Tyler Gordon

Co-CEO

Tyler joined BaseCamp Franchising as Co-CEO in 2022 and is principally focused on finance, marketing and franchise development for Uptown Cheapskate and Kid to Kid. Prior to joining BaseCamp, Tyler was a Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Horizon Point Capital and, prior to that, a Principal at Apollo Global Management. During his more than 10 years as an investor in private equity, Tyler was integrally involved in setting operational and strategic priorities for over a dozen companies across a wide range of industries. Tyler received his MBA from Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar and a Loeb Fellow, and graduated with honors from Harvard College with a BA in Economics.

Zach Gordon

Co-CEO

Zach joined BaseCamp Franchising as Co-CEO in 2022. As Co-CEO, Zach is primarily responsible for overseeing the operations and technology efforts for Uptown Cheapskate and Kid to Kid. Prior to joining BaseCamp, Zach was a Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Horizon Point Capital, where he helped lead investment evaluation and execution. Prior to that, Zach was a Senior Director at Restaurant Brands International (RBI), the global franchisor of Burger King, Tim Hortons, Popeyes and Firehouse Subs. At RBI, Zach’s wide range of responsibilities included business development and M&A, as well as budgeting, financial planning and public reporting. Zach received his MBA from Harvard Business School and his BA in History from Harvard College.

Chelsea Sloan Carroll

Co-Founder

Chelsea co-founded Uptown Cheapskate in 2008 and is responsible for helping set the strategic vision for the brand and enhancing store systems and processes. Chelsea also owns and operates over a dozen Uptown Cheapskate and Kid to Kid stores with locations across the country. Chelsea has received multiple awards for entrepreneurship, including the Entrepreneur’s Organization’s 2013 Global Student Entrepreneur of the Year, Forbes 30 under 30, and Inc Magazine’s 30 under 30. She received a BA in business with an emphasis in information systems from the University of Utah.

Amy Deal

Director of Operations

Amy joined the BaseCamp team in January 2017 and is the Director of Operations for Uptown Cheapskate and Kid to Kid. Over the past 6 years, Amy has held several important roles across operational support, new store support, and training. She also previously held the role of Corporate Store District Manager, giving her a wealth of hands-on experience at the store level. Prior to working for BaseCamp, Amy held multiple management roles at Target for close to a decade.

Craig Smith

Chief Financial Officer

Craig Smith is the CFO for BaseCamp Franchising. As the CFO, Craig leads the accounting efforts for BaseCamp and is also directly involved in managing the Administration team. Through BaseCamp’s bookkeeping service, Craig also helps new and current franchise owners with a range of accounting, financial and business development projects. Craig has a BS in Accounting from the University of Utah and has multiple decades of experience across public accounting, the oil and gas industry, and the audiovisual industry.

Joslin Wright

Chief Experience Officer

Joslin is BaseCamp’s Chief Experience Officer and is a critical point of contact for both BaseCamp’s employees and our franchisees across the country and abroad. Since joining BaseCamp in 2013, Joslin’s responsibilities have also included Director of Administration and Compliance and Director of Kid to Kid Operations. From 2005 to 2013, Joslin served as lead paralegal and office manager for the Utah office of Hall Prangle and Schoonveld, LLC, a Chicago-based law firm.

Mel Green

Chief Technology Officer

Mel has over 15 years of experience as an engineer and leader. He has built a variety of software products including embedded applications, desktop tools, distributed systems, and cloud applications for small, scrappy start-ups and large, enterprise-level corporations. Mel joined BaseCamp Franchising as CTO in 2022 to help take our capabilities in technology to another level. Software and technology play a core role in driving operational and financial success for our franchisees and help support a meaningful competitive advantage for Uptown Cheapskate and Kid to Kid.
