Chelsea Sloan Carroll
President
Chelsea co-founded the Uptown Cheapskate brand in 2008 and is responsible for store systems and strategic vision as President of the brand. Chelsea has more than 14 years of resale store experience with Uptown Cheapskate and Kid to Kid. She managed multiple Kid to Kid stores, supported Kid to Kid franchisees as a franchise support representative, and developed marketing programs before opening several Uptown Cheapskate stores as an owner. Chelsea has received multiple awards for entrepreneurship, including the Entrepreneur’s Organization’s 2013 Global Student Entrepreneur of the Year, Forbes 30 under 30, and Inc Magazine’s 30 under 30. She received a bachelor’s degree in business with an emphasis in information systems from the University of Utah.

Brighton Sloan
Chief Operating Officer
Brighton is the Chief Operating Officer for Basecamp Franchising, where she oversees the execution of store operations. She has worked at Basecamp in many roles over the past 10 years, including store management, franchise support, and training. Brighton received her BA from Brigham Young University in Theater Arts, and has owned several businesses including multiple Kid to Kid stores and a local theater company.

Craig Smith
Chief Financial Officer
Craig Smith is the CFO for BaseCamp. Craig manages the Accounting and Human Resource needs for BaseCamp and directly leads the Administration team. Craig oversees the BaseCamp Bookkeeping service and helps new and current owners with accounting/financial related projects such as obtaining start-up or expansion financing. Craig has a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Accounting from the University of Utah and has multiple years of experience in public accounting, the oil and gas industry, and the audiovisual industry.
Dave Martell
Director of Franchise Development
Dave joined BaseCamp franchising in September 2013 in Franchise Development. His responsibilities include leading potential franchisees down the exploration path and helping them understand if our brands are the right fit. Prior to working for BaseCamp he worked in Retail Management and Sales at places like PacSun, Buckle, and Verizon Wireless and uses that experience along with an in-depth knowledge of our resale stores to help qualify potential franchisees to manage a retail location like Kid to Kid and Uptown Cheapskate.

Rhett McNamara
Director of Information Technology
Rhett joined BaseCamp franchising after gaining valuable IT experience in the Customer Service and Call Center environments – including server management, server orchestration, disaster recovery, automation, and team leadership. He manages both the Tech Support and Software Development teams for BaseCamp with a dedicated focus on the development and implementation of systems to keep our stores on the cutting edge of technology and industry-leading technical support.

Joslin Wright
Director of Administration and Compliance
Joslin joined the BaseCamp team in January 2013 as Director of Kid to Kid Support, and is now Director of Administration and Compliance for both Kid to Kid and Uptown Cheapskate, and oversees franchise standards and practices. From 2005 to 2013, she served as lead paralegal and office manager for the Utah office of Hall Prangle and Schoonveld, LLC, a Chicago-based law firm.

Amy Deal
Director of Operations
Amy joined the BaseCamp team in January 2017 as the Corporate Store District Manager and now holds the position of Director of Operations. She has worked at BaseCamp in multiple roles over the past 6 years, including operations support, new store support, and training. Prior to working for BaseCamp, she held multiple management roles at Target for 9 years.
