The process consists of seven simple steps, which are designed to give you a well-rounded perspective on life at Uptown and also help us determine if there is a strong mutual fit for franchise ownership. Once you have signed your franchise agreement, our dedicated team will be ready to hit the ground running and help you build momentum through your Grand Opening and beyond!
STEP 1
Reach Out
You’ll start your Uptown journey by getting in touch with our franchise development team through our convenient online form. From there, someone from our team will reach out to schedule an introductory call. On this call, we’ll get to know each other, learn more about your background and goals, and also assess your fit with our franchise requirements.
STEP 2
Uptown Brand Review
If we feel there is a strong mutual fit after the introductory call, we’ll schedule an Uptown Cheapskate brand review. During this session, we’ll provide you with a detailed overview of our history, mission, business model, and team. You’ll also learn more about the comprehensive support you would receive as a franchise owner.
STEP 3
FDD Disclosure & Review
Our Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) provides a wealth of information on our business model, the requirements to open an Uptown Cheapskate, the financial profile of our stores, and much more. Take time to review the FDD carefully and ask any questions that come up.
STEP 4
Application & Validation
If you feel Uptown Cheapskate is the right opportunity after reviewing our FDD, the next step will be to submit an application. The application includes a request for additional financial information, which helps us ensure you have a strong foundation for franchise ownership. At this time, we will also encourage you to reach out to our community of franchisees to learn from their perspectives.
STEP 5
Meet Our Team
Discovery Day is one of the most exciting and informative steps you’ll take in your franchise journey. You’ll spend two days at our corporate headquarters in Salt Lake City, where you’ll meet our senior leadership team and learn more about our operations, our culture, and our values. Our team will also be excited to hear more about your background, experiences, and goals.
STEP 6
Sign Your Agreement
Once you’re ready to officially become an Uptown Cheapskate franchise owner, you’ll sign a franchise agreement and pay the initial franchise fee. You will then be introduced to our dedicated new store team, who will provide you guidance and support every step of the way.
STEP 7
Start Building Your Business!
From site selection and lease negotiation to store build-out and marketing support, we’ve fine-tuned our new store processes to be both stress-free and effective. We have also developed a comprehensive training curriculum, which includes online, in-person, and in-store components. By the time you’ve completed your training, you will be ready to open and operate your Uptown Cheapskate store with confidence!
