A Straightforward Franchise Development Process

Our franchise development process includes seven steps designed to help you understand what it’s like to own an Uptown Cheapskate. This franchise process also helps us confirm there’s a strong mutual fit. Our aim is to be as transparent as possible and answer your questions every step along the way.

STEP 1

Reach Out

Start the franchise application process by completing our brief intake form. From there, a member of our team will reach out to schedule an introductory call. We’ll learn more about your background and goals and address any initial questions you have.

STEP 2

Uptown Brand Review

After the intro call, the next step in the process of buying a franchise is an Uptown Cheapskate brand review. During this session, we’ll provide a detailed overview of our history, mission, business model, and team. You’ll also learn more about the support built into our franchise onboarding process.

STEP 3

FDD Disclosure & Review

Our Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) outlines key details about the process of franchising a business with Uptown Cheapskate. The FDD covers operating requirements, startup costs, store performance insights, and more. Take as much time as you need to carefully review the FDD and reach out to our team with any questions.

STEP 4

Application & Validation

After reviewing our FDD, if you feel that Uptown Cheapskate is the right opportunity for you, the next step is to submit a formal application. Our application includes a request for additional background information, which helps us ensure you have a strong foundation for franchise ownership. At this time, we also encourage you to reach out to our community of franchisees to learn from their perspectives.

STEP 5

Meet Our Team

Discovery Day is one of the most exciting and informative steps of our process. You’ll spend two days at our corporate headquarters in Salt Lake City, where you’ll meet our senior leadership team and learn more about our operations, culture, and values. Our team is also excited to hear more about your background and goals for the future.

STEP 6

Sign Your Agreement

Once you’re ready to move forward, you’ll sign a franchise agreement and pay the initial franchise fee. We will then introduce you to our dedicated new store team, which will provide comprehensive support as you work towards your Grand Opening.

STEP 7

Start Building Your Business!

From site selection to store buildout and marketing support, we have fine-tuned every aspect of our New Store process. Training includes online, in-person, and in-store modules. Supporting new franchisees during their Grand Opening weekend is one of the best parts of our job!
